Eat The Street #ProTip: Parking
Posted on January 30, 2014
So, i’m headed to Eat The Street, but
Where Do I Park?
The later you get to Eat The Street, the more difficult it can be to find convenient parking. I personally know people who have parked on Ward and walked over. While its not really that far, it is inconvenient, so here are a few tips to get parked closer than that.
Parking available in the adjacent lot:
As our first #ProTip suggestion stated, you want to Come Early. The event begins at 4pm, so the closer to 4pm that you get there, the more likely you are to find a stall in the lot directly connected to Eat The Street.
During the day, it is a paid parking lot for surrounding businesses, so some of the cars parked in the lot have been there all day and may be leaving at the end of the work day (mostly between 4 and 6), so that’s when cars would be leaving and opening new stalls in the parking lot. [see red area on the map below]
Lots Of Street Parking Available:
There are lots of stalls along the streets in Kakaako. But as it is the business district in Honolulu, keep in mind that cars are most likely moving at the end of the work day if they are visiting businesses in the neighborhood. There is parking all over Pohukaina (all the way down to the BJ Penn gym), as well as along South St and other cross streets. [see yellow area on map below]
Paid Parking At Restaurant Row:
If all else fails, and you don’t want to walk too far, you can always look for parking at Restaurant Row [see green area on map below]. Its directly across the street which is pretty convenient. Keep in mind, any fees and rules associated with Restaurant Rows parking will apply, as it is their lot. Be aware of posted signs for details.
Parking – Eat The Street lot. Behind restaurant row. By the fire station. Along South St. Near Ward. Park in Restaurant Row.
