Kahuna Dogs
Posted on August 5, 2012
Another beautiful weekend in Hawaii, calls for another road trip. This time, we head back out to the west side of the island, in search of some gindz.
Just past Ko’olina at Kahe Point Beach Park (aka Electric Beach), we ran into Kahuna Dogs. The iconic hot dog shaped cart is easy to spot, even from the other side of the highway. And topped with the hawaiian style umbrella, and bright colored paint, youre sure to find it just as easy as we did.
Between their own recipe for theor dogs, and their famous red pepper relish. They definitely have a unique flavor that makes for a pretty tasty dog.

In fact, their red pepper relish is so popular, that due toi demand, they have recenty started bottling it so their fans can buy it to take home.
I knew i wanted something with their famous red pepper relish, and after staring at the menu, it was a toss up between the New Yorker and The Mexican. But something about the mexican was calling my name, and after only a short wait to grill up the dog and the bacon, it was time for the grindz.
You can find them here at this location, just outside of Electric Beach, on Sat and Sun from 11-4:30. Just head west past Ko’olina, and its across from the big electric plant.

You can also find them in Kailua and Mililani. Check out their website for a full list of locations and times.
