SMPL: Red Velvet Malasada

Today we went for a twist on a local classic that should not be missed.

The Red Velvet Malasada from Local Stop.


After a bunch of trial and error, they managed to make a batter with the flavor of a red velvet cupcake and the texture and stability of a malasada. After frying and rolling in sugar,  they filled it with cheesecake filling, topped it with whipped cream, strawberry slices and drizzled it with chocolate.


A great bite for sure. The sugary dough of the malasada and the creamy cheesecake filling. Then a bite of tangy sweet strawberry and the chocolate syrup. A great remix of two classics.
